  1. INTRODUCTION. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how Allies for Allies (“A4A”, “we”, “our”, and “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information through its Care Connect website (the “Website”) and the services we offer through the Website (collectively with the website, the “Services”). By using or accessing the Services in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the practices and policies outlined in this Policy. Any capitalized terms that are not defined in this Policy are defined in our Terms of Service.
  2. INFORMATION COLLECTED AND HOW WE USE IT.. This section explains the personal information we may collect from you or from third parties about you. In addition, we may collect certain personal information automatically through your use of the Services. We will use this information to provide you with the functionality of our Services, to improve our Services, and to provide you with information about our Services. The rest of this section provides a more detailed explanation of the personal information we collect and how we use that personal information.

2.1. Voluntarily Disclosed Information.

2.1.1. Account Creation. In order to create your account on the Website, you will need to provide certain identification information, such as your name, email address, phone number, the city/town where you reside, your zip code, and a profile photo. You will also need to create a short biography. We use this information to identify you, enable you to use the Services, and to contact you about the Services.

2.1.2. Information Collected from Guardians Regarding Support Needs. If you are a Guardian, you will need to provide information necessary to enable you to connect with the proper Caregivers. This information includes personal information like the name of the Care Recipient, the Care Recipient’s diagnosis, the support needed for the Care Recipient, the languages you and the Care Recipient speak, and the age of the Care Recipient.

2.1.3. Information Collected from Caregivers Regarding Support Provided. If you are a Caregiver, you will need to provide information necessary to enable you to connect with the proper Guardians and Care Recipients. This information includes personal information like your care giving experience, training, certifications, and the languages you speak.

2.1.4. Background Check for Caregivers. If you are a Caregiver, you will be required to submit to a background check managed by our third-party service provider (the “Background Check Provider”). In order to complete the background check, you will need to provide certain personal information to the Background Check Provider, including your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, social security number, date of birth, and driver’s license number.

2.1.5. Contact Us Form. You may contact us via the “Contact Us” link on our Website. If you do so, you will be asked to provide your name and email address.

2.2. Automatically Collected Information.

2.2.1. Browser & Device Information. Whenever you interact with the Website, we automatically receive and record (or our vendors do so on our behalf) certain information from your browser or device, which may include your IP address, geolocation data, device identification, “cookie” and pixel tag information, the type of device you’re using to access the Website, the amount of time spent on the Website, and the page or feature you requested. “Cookies” are identifiers we transfer to your browser or device that allow us to recognize your browser or device and tell us how and when pages and features in the Website are visited and by how many people. You may be able to change the preferences on your browser or device to prevent or limit your device’s acceptance of cookies, but this may prevent you from taking advantage of some of our features. We use the data we automatically collect from you to operate and improve the Website – for example, this data can tell us how often users use a particular feature of the Website.

3. DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION. We may disclose your personal information to the categories of third parties identified in this section.

3.1. Personnel and Third Party Service Providers. We employ personnel and engage other companies and people to perform tasks on our behalf and need to share your personal information with them to provide products or services to you. For example, our Background Check Provider handles background checks for Caregivers. As another example, our Website is run through WordPress.

3.2. Other Users. Other users may be able to see your personal information in limited circumstances. For example, certain aspects of your profile may be viewable by other users. If you are a Caregiver, your profile will be viewable by Guardians. If you are a Guardian, your profile will be viewable by Caregivers who you message through the Website. In each case, your contact information will not be shared with the other user unless you choose to share it. If you are a Guardian and choose to include personal information within a job post, Caregivers who view the job post will be able to see that personal information.

3.3. Analytics Services. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors engage with our Services. You can learn more about the information that Google has access to at the following website: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

3.4. Business Transfers. If we (or our assets) are acquired, or if we go out of business, enter bankruptcy, or go through some other change of control, personal information could be one of the assets transferred to or acquired by a third party.

3.5. Legal Compliance. We reserve the right to access, read, preserve, and disclose any information that we believe is necessary to comply with governmental requests, law enforcement or court orders, or enforce or apply our Terms of Service and other agreements.

4. SECURITY. We use commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. In addition, we enter into contracts with all of our third party service providers that require reasonable precautions be taken against unauthorized uses of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant that these precautions will always be successful or that your personal information on the Website may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by
breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

5. MODIFICATION, DELETION & RETENTION OF INFORMATION. Through your account dashboard, you may access, edit and delete your profile information. Please understand, however, that it may be impossible to delete this information completely, due to backups and records of deletions. In addition, we may deny a deletion request if (i) the denial is necessary for us to comply with applicable law, or (ii) the request pertains to content that you posted on a publicly available portion of the Website and that cannot be deleted without impacting the Services experience for other users. You may not request the removal of de-identified, anonymous, or aggregate data from our databases.

Subject to your right to request deletion of your personal information, we will retain your personal information as long as needed for your use of the Services, your approved receipt of marketing communications from us, our compliance with legal obligations, and to protect our or other’s interests.

6. HOW WE RESPOND TO DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS. We do not track you or collect your information across third party websites or online services. Thus, we do not receive Do-Not-Track signals, or other similar signals. To the extent that we do receive any such signals, we will not comply with them as it is not an aspect of the functionality of the Services.

7. AGE OF USERS. Children under the age of 18 are not permitted to use, access or register for the Services in any way. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 18, except with respect to information about Care Recipients submitted by their Guardians.

8. CHANGES TO POLICY. We’re constantly trying to improve the Services, so we may need to change this Policy from time to time as well. The date of the last modification will be posted at the beginning of this Policy. It is your responsibility to check from time to time for updates. By continuing to access or use the Services, you are indicating that you agree to be bound by the modified Policy.
